Day of Service @ Southwest CDC
13 August 2016
This has to be one of the most memorable day in the school calendar!
In collaboration with South-West CDC, NEA, Singapore Glove Project and Public Hygiene Council and the Town Council, Juying hosted the launch of Day of Service @ South West. Armed with Litter Picking Toolkits, our P5 pupils took different routes to reach different parts of the community to pick up litter. They hope to influence others to keep Singapore clean, reinforce the social norm on zero tolerance against littering and to garner support from the community by wearing sandwich boards with important messages in this outreach.
Experiencing how back-breaking litter picking can be, our young chargers were full of gratitude for their school and community Cleaners. They honoured these Everyday Heroes with a lovely performance, presented them with beautifully-made cards filled with heartwarming messages and served them food! The PSG baked delicious Day of Service brownies and prepared homemade dessert to show their appreciation for our unsung heroes too.
The whole event came to a standstill at 9.12am to cheer for Joseph Schooling.

What a day! I’m sure our staff and pupils, and Mayor Ms Low Yen Ling, who led us in cheering for Singapore, took home beautiful memories!
